Summer Project: Proposal

Media text: 
My chosen media text is Wonder Woman which is a action genre and a superhero movie which was distributed in 2017. 

Media issue/debate: 
The media debate is the representation of females in the modern world in the media and how the "WonderWoman" movie subverts the typical stereotype of females being weak and vulnerable.

Representation: Both females and males
Ideology: Bring the awareness of how females are represented on the media. 
Audiences: How the representation of females impact the females in society mentally and psychologically

 Wider context - impact of text/topic on society:
I think my chosen topic is important because it brings about the awareness of the representation of females. The society in general aren't really aware of the negative impact that the representation has on the females.

Linked production:
I am thinking of doing a video for this media issue because through the production of the video, I can explore many things such as being creative with the representation of both genders within the video so it can link with the media text and the media issue.

Moonlight is a coming of age movie that focuses on 3 different chapters of one person's life. This movie is directed and written by Barry Jenkins. The whole plot of this movie was that there is this boy living in a ghetto area where he grows up in. To what extent does Magic Mike XXL defy the stereotypical role of men in film?  Initial discussion: can you deconstruct and offer an answer to this question?  -In the 2015 feel-good movie about male strippers which was Magic Mike XXL, the males are represented as quite feminist due to their representation within the movie to fulfill their female audiences. However, they were also represented as a stereotypical representation of men.
